The Workers Resource Centre (WRC) has started a new journey
On 10th August, 2022 the Workers Resource Centre (WRC) has started a new journey to work for the informal sector workers by launching a new project for Construction & Domestic Workers.
The project is named as ” Promoting Decent Work & Women’s Rights in the backdrop if COVID-19” supported by the ILO/Japan Multi-bilateral programme (PRS/STRIDE).
Apex Leadership from all the WRC Constituent Trade Union Federations join the programme. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Chowdhury Ashiqul Alam and was moderated by Sister China Rahman, Vice Chairman, WRC.
Among others Mr.Shusuke Oyobe, CTA, ILO-PRS/STRIDE Project, Mr. Gunjan B. Dallakoti, SME Dev. Specialist, ILO, Dr. Mosleh Uddin Sadeque, National Consultant, ILO Brother Jamil Ansar, NPO, ILO-SDIR project, Farjana Reza, NPO, EII project, ILO & Sabbir Hossain, National Consultant, ILO-SDIR & Chancal Mahud, Admin & Finance Assistant, ILO attended the meeting.
Khandoker Abdus Salam, Manager, WRC. Presented the Project Concept and Work Plan. In this project the WRC will organize National Consultation workshop/meeting with different stakeholders, Media persons and the working groups of the Construction and Domestic workers. A series of Training programme for the field level construction & domestic workers will also be organized by the WRC Constituent Trade Union Federations
The main focus of the project is to create strong awareness raising Training, Campaign and Advocacy to proper implementation of the ratified ILO Convention 87 & 98 and to immediate ratify the ILO Convention 189 & 190 by the Government of Bangladesh.
