Justice, training, and support that create lasting change.

Empowering Workers. Strengthening Communities.

Who We Are

Who We Are

Workers Resource Centre (WRC) is a joint initiative of the National Coordination Committee for Workers’ Education (NCCWE) and the IndustriALL Bangladesh Council (IBC), working to strengthen workers’ rights and trade union capacity in Bangladesh.

Established in 2017 and launched in 2018 with support from the ILO SDIR Project (funded by the Governments of Denmark and Sweden), WRC focuses on empowering unions-especially in the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector-while also supporting industry and workers.

  • Governance: 14-member Board of Trustees (7 from NCCWE, 7 from IBC)
  • Network: 26 federations (11 national, 15 sectoral)

Empowering unions. Strengthening representation. Advancing workers’ rights.

What We Do

What We Do

At WRC, we focus on several core areas:

  • Legal Empowerment: Providing paralegal support, legal advice, and dispute resolution.

  • Capacity Building: Offering training programs for trade unions, particularly in the RMG sector.

  • Advocacy & Policy Work: Working with the government and international bodies to improve labor laws and policies.

🔭

Vision

A JUST and INCLUSIVE Bangladesh where all workers—formal, informal, and migrant—are free from exploitation and empowered to realize their rights, dignity, and full potential.

🎯

Mission

Establishing the SUSTAINABLE WRC which will contribute to the reduction of all forms of violation, discrimination and harassment towards ensuring that the workers in Bangladesh are enjoying their full rights with dignity.

In Bangladesh, youth represent nearly one-third of the population, and while their participation in trade unions has been limited in the past, they are steadily making their mark. Young workers are increasingly uniting, raising their voices, and building leadership within unions.

Step by step, they are overcoming challenges, growing stronger, and shaping a more inclusive and dynamic labour movement for the future.
